farmer left with a large chunk missing from his skull has undergone
groundbreaking surgery with the help of a 3D printer - and may re-gain
the ability to speak as a result.
Hu

Xi'an, the capital city of the Shaanxi province in north west China.
He smashed his head against some wood, leaving him with a large part of his skull caved in.
This
damaged his brain, causing him to lose vision in his left eye,
experience double vision, and leaving him unable to speak or write.
The Chinese underwent approximately three-and-a-half hour operation on August 28 and it was believed that the operation was successful.
The doctors developed a titanium mesh created by a 3D printer which was placed under his skin and attached to his skull. The Chinese skull normal and was expected to leave the hospital five days after the operation.
Asiaone reported that doctors believe that it would restore the original shape of his head.
Some surgeries using 3D printers have reportedly been performed previously by the doctors.
